How to specify KF (QF) Flanges & Components
KF (Klein Flange), also called QF, is the practical choice for frequently opened fore-vacuum and high-vacuum lines. A centering ring positions the O-ring while a single clamp compresses the seal between two identical flanges. Selection starts with tube outside diameter, nominal KF size, elastomer compatibility and operating temperature.

Technical questions
What is the difference between KF and QF?
They refer to the same quick-release vacuum flange family; naming varies by manufacturer and region.
Can KF flanges be used for UHV?
KF is normally selected for rough and high vacuum. Bakeable metal-sealed CF connections are preferred for UHV.
