How to specify CF Flanges & Components
CF flanges create a reusable-flange, single-use-gasket metal seal. Opposing knife edges plastically deform an OFHC copper gasket, making the connection bakeable and suitable for ultra-high vacuum. Correct nominal size, tube diameter, fixed or rotatable geometry, bolt pattern and gasket material must be matched.

Technical questions
Why is a copper gasket used in CF connections?
The soft copper gasket deforms between the knife edges to form a bakeable all-metal vacuum seal.
Can a CF copper gasket be reused?
No. Use a new undamaged gasket after opening the connection.
